What Is It?
The BodyTalk System is a therapy which aims to restore communication
between the body’s energy systems to improve health and wellbeing.
BodyTalk was developed in the mid 1990s by Dr John Veltheim, an Australian
chiropractor and acupuncturist. It is a form of energy balancing that
combines elements of advanced yoga, applied kinesiology, ayurvedic
philosophy, modern physics, acupuncture and western medicine.
How Does It
Work?
BodyTalk is based on the principle that the body’s systems, cells
and atoms are in constant communication with each other. Through exposure
to everyday stresses, poor eating habits, or trauma, the lines of communication
within the body can become disrupted, leading to physical or psychological
problems. The therapy aims to reconnect these lines of communication
and re-synchronize the body’s energy systems, accelerating the
healing process.
The balancing process used in BodyTalk involves a kind of gentle bodily
tapping that is based on an ancient Hatha Yoga technique. Experiments
with biofeedback instruments show that when this tapping occurs while
a specific part of the body is being touched, there is increased brain
activity in relation to that part. Once communication has been restored,
the body can heal itself at a deep and lasting level. BodyTalk can
be integrated with other therapies to increase its effectiveness.

What Happens During
Treatment?
During the first visit the practitioner will ask about your medical
history and current health problems. You will lie fully clothed on
a therapy table while the practitioner uses neuromuscular feedback
(muscle reflex testing on the hands) to locate weak energy circuits
that exist in the body. The feedback provides “yes” or “no” responses
to a protocol of questions which identifies the parts of the body needing
repair, and the proper order in which they are to be addressed. The
protocol covers the physiological, biochemical, circulatory, nervous,
emotional and/or energy systems. The patient and/or the practitioner
touches the part of the body needing repair, while the practitioner
gently taps on the head of the patient to focus the brain on the repair,
then taps on the chest to store the balance in memory. No diagnosis
is given or any medications prescribed.
BodyTalk sessions generally last about 30-45 minutes. The number of
sessions needed will vary according to the condition treated. For most
people, two or three sessions are enough but some ailments may require
more sessions over several weeks.

What Is It Used
For?
BodyTalk has been used to treat many ailments, including arthritis,
headaches, stress, phobias, depression, allergies, digestive disorders,
spinal injuries, pain and addictions.
Side Effects/Cautions
BodyTalk is a non-invasive treatment with no known side effects.
Some healing symptoms may occur in certain cases. For example, if
a patient's body is ridding itself of a virus, flu type symptoms may
occur until this process is complete. Symptoms could also appear for
a short time after treating parasites, toxins, and emotional releases.
Of course whenever these symptoms occur, it's ideal that you consult
doctors for professional help. Seeking advise from your life
cover representatives can be an option too.
Diabetics should monitor their blood sugar carefully after a blood
sugar balancing treatment.
BodyTalk should be viewed as a complementary medicine and not a substitute
for conventional medical care.

The Body Talk System: The Missing Link
to Optimum Health
John Veltheim
"The Body Talk System is a quantum advance in energy
healing in its reliance on Innate Wisdom to guide priorities
for each step of treatment, and in its focus on rebuilding
energy-communication links within the body/mind. It is a
carefully designed, precise and thorough system which is
highly effective for all kinds of disorders.
The book gives an overview of Body Talk's basic principles
and methods, but training is essential to use the system
for oneself or others."
